Program: November

Theme:

What can you let go of to experience more peace and space within yourself?

In November, we can enjoy the beautiful autumn colors in nature. Although the weather can sometimes be chilly with rain and wind, it’s often wonderful to take a nice walk and get some fresh air.

This month, we’re specifically focusing on the lungs and the large intestine, or rather, the energy pathways of these organs, also called meridians. These are our rivers of energy, which run through our body and influence all cells and organs. The proper flow of energy in our meridians is important for our health. If there’s an imbalance, it can cause complaints. We’ll explore this further in our themed workshop.

By consciously filling our lungs with air, we catch our breath and create more space for ourselves. This also helps us to consciously reflect on what’s going on in our body and mind.

The colon represents the release of waste products, as well as the release of certain feelings, such as guilt. Perhaps there are habits, thoughts, or emotions you want to let go of, to experience peace and space within yourself. Just as nature sheds its leaves and prepares for winter.

With the activities below for the month of November, we offer you tools and inspiration that you can actively use. This way, you can contribute to improving your health and vitality.

Contents of this module

In this module, you'll first find the autumn themed workshop, which includes an explanation of the meridians of the colon and the lungs and how we can use them to improve health and vitality. By request, we've also added a PDF file with the workshop texts, along with some more information about these meridians. You can also find our podcast with Henk-Jan van Reenen, he explains how he helps people with his body-oriented therapy.

Meditaties
These meditations support the monthly theme
Relaxing meditations

In this module, you'll find a selection from our library of meditations. All meditations are guided, focused on relaxation and stimulating our body's self-healing capacity. The focus can be on, for example, compassion for yourself and others or on improving your energy. Self-care, what nourishes you, gratitude, and a body scan are other themes that fit this monthly program.

Yoga classes
Two teachers support the monthly theme
Relaxing yoga classes

Adrianne teaches Hatha yoga classes, focusing on the various poses. This allows you to use your body optimally without forcing it. The goal is to achieve a state of calm, both physically and mentally, and to briefly disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Clementine is an experienced Dru yoga teacher and teaches classes based on calm and gentle movements in the poses. Gentle movements create little resistance and allow you to release tension. The relaxation and movement during the exercises improve your body's flexibility and energy flow.

Short physical exercises
These support the monthly theme
Improve your vitality

To improve our vitality, it's important to give ourselves space to express and vent our emotions. It's also important to stay physically active, for example, by taking a nice walk outdoors. This module contains four short exercises that will help you work on improving your vitality. Try repeating one exercise every day for a week, and you'll soon see the results!

Breathing and nutrition workshops
Both workshops support the monthly theme
Inspiring workshops

Breathing workshop: Jos Derksen, a breathing specialist, teaches you breathing exercises that help you bypass your thoughts and connect with your emotions. Proper breathing is important for your physical and mental health. With proper breathing, your brain and muscles receive sufficient oxygen. This allows you to move or concentrate on a specific task, for example. Proper breathing can also reduce your stress symptoms.

Nutrition workshop: Sophie Luderer, a dietician with the organization PuurGezond (PureHealth), inspires you by explaining how to eat deliciously and healthy at the same time. You'll receive advice on how to eat as naturally as possible. You'll discover that healthy and delicious food go hand in hand. Sophie has a wealth of experience and bases her advice on science.

  • Through rhythm and repetition, it naturally becomes a routine you can maintain.
